May Day Stadium is a comprehensive sports arena located on Rungna Islet in Pyongyang.

It is open in its architectural form and looks very spacious, airy and three-dimensional as its internal space is linked to the outside.
It has a football pitch which can host international games, 400m running track, basketball and volleyball courts and four entrances leading to the stadium through the platform storey.
The auditorium is divided into upper and lower sections with 38 gates in the lower section and 40 others in the upper one to ensure easy entry and exit.
The 150 000-seater stadium is 61 metres high and has eight floors. Around it are more than 20 training grounds including four lawn football pitches, tennis courts and a roller hockey field.
Many international competitions and other events have been held at the stadium.
Especially, it was the venue of the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1989.
It underwent renovation in 2014.
